TOPIC: LIVING IN THE UNDERSTANDIING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

GOLDEN VERSE: 1COR 2: 12 – 14

The theme for this glorious youth week anniversary is “living in the understanding of the Holy Spirit”. 

Follow me to 1COR 2: 12 – 14. If we look at the book of 1kings 13: 1-24 this passage talks about a

prophet that went to deliver a message to the king 

I bless the name of the lord, for making me worthy as part of his instrument that will be laying more 

emphasis on the word “HOLY SPIRIT”.

With no doubts in my heart it ’s been over two years now that the word “Holy Spirit “has been coming 

repeatedly on this altar to our hearings.

I will bring to our remembrance some significant programs we have held in the past two years that 

ironed out the word “Holy Spirit”

1                   night vigil prayer pamphlet that talked  about the Holy Spirit

2                   the great AGBAPA ACADEMY ironed out a great point about the     Holy Spirit

3                   Our motor for this year says Holy Spirit

4                   lastly, our theme for this year youth week says living in the understanding of the Holy spirit

this will make us to see that the visitation of the holy spirit is coming to our church

ARE YOU READY FOR THE VISITION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THIS IS ONE QUESTION I WILL LIKE US TO 

ANSWER IN OUR MIND 

Who is Holy Spirit?

You need to have the full understanding about who the Holy Spirit is, before you can live in the

understanding of the Holy Spirit. 

Follow me down to the book of Acts 1-8, Acts 2 1-4 this are promises of God about having the Holy 

Spirit.

Let’s talk about the personalities of the Holy Spirit

HOW DO WE LIVE IN UNDERSTANDING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

1                   Accept Jesus Christ as your lord and personal savior. Romans 10: 9-11

2                   Repent from your sins 1john1v9

3                   Meditating in the word of God joshua1v8

4                   Be a prayerful Christian jude1v8

5                   Spiritual exercise ( talk on Saint pa Odenike)

Gradually our spiritual life will start to grow and this will pave the way for the Holy Spirit to live in us.

LIVING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

Once you desire to receive the Holy Spirit and the genuine hunger for the Spirit is in you, definitely you 

will receive the visitation of the Holy Spirit, and this will manifest the gift of the Spirit which are the gift

of healing, Prophecy, wisdom, understanding, working of miracle, discerning of spirit, speaking in

tongues, and interpretation of tongues. 

Let us bring it down to our midst here. The lord has filled our father in the lord with the gift of the Holy

Spirit. Talk of healing, Prophecy, wisdom, understanding, art, science and technology, commerce, he is

filled with the understanding of all I’ve listed. 

All this are not just there for the sake of I wish to have this gift, but because he desired it and he worked 

towards having it by meditating in the scriptures and continuous prayer for the Holy Spirit.

THE WORK OF HOLY SPIRIT

1        Holy spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8 vs. 26-27 for we do not know how to pray but Holy Spirit 

stands in for us before the father

2.       1COR 12: 4-11 gift of Wisdom. Knowledge, faith, gift of healing, working of miracle, prophecy, 

discerning of Spirit, speaking in tongues, and interpretation of tongues. i have been emphasizing on the

word discerning of Spirit because that is the part we are mostly deceived by the fake prophets. 

3.       Holy spirit helps us to commune / connect with the lord.

4.       Holy Spirit give is power to lose and bind. Matt 18v18-20

5.       Holy Spirit is our comforter john 14v16 Jesus saw the need for the comforter that was why he sent 

the comforter and the comforter is here

DO YOU HAVE THE COMFORTER? ARE YOU READY TO RECEIVE THE COMFORTER WHICH IS THE HOLY 

SPIRIT?

Conclusion

As a Christian, living in the Holy Spirit should be a major desire for us. You cannot have the full

experience of its POWER without the baptism of the Holy Spirit. 

Lets us ask for forgiveness of sins  

Prayer for the visitation of the holy spirit in our lives.

 PRAYER: I stand on the authority on this alter and with the calling of my father in lord pastor Sunday 

Olabode Fakunle , receive the Holy Ghost, as so much your heart desires, receive the Holy Spirit amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you, the lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the lord 

turn his face towards you and give you peace.
