About Our Church - Amazing Grace Foundation Church

Amazing Grace Foundation Church took off in March, 1990. The first service was held inside a dilapidated structure of an old Grammar School with 18 souls in attendance. Total money contributed during service was N18. In less than three (3) months, we had to move to another uncompleted building as the initial place could not contain us. Less than a year, we bought a plot of land and started building our first church. Before we could finish the building, the Lord provided us with an acre of land where our present headquarters church is located. It is miraculous that all these movements between the dilapidated old school classroom to our headquarter location, all took place within one street. Today, we have spread out to five of Nigerian states, Federal Capital inclusive.

Our doctrines are as follows;

  • Scriptures/The Bible

Amazing Grace Foundation believes that the Bible is the Word/Voice of God. We believe that the Bible is written by men divinely inspired and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that has God for its author and salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions shall be tried.

The Bible shall therefore be used as the Foundations’ reference book of authority and it shall be used to judge all manifestations of the Holy Spirit and His gifts.

  • The True God

Amazing Grace Foundation believes that there is one, and only living true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, whose name is JEHOVAH, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly Glorious in Holiness, and worthy of all possible honour, confidence and love.

The Foundations believes that in the unit of the God Head, there are three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. These are separate and distinct persons, possessing separate distinct and recognizable personalities and qualities, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

  • Divine Inspiration

The formation of Amazing Grace Foundations was inspired by the Holy Spirit and shall therefore fully depend on the leadership of the Holy Spirit. The Foundations shall not take any step unless the Holy Ghost so inspires. The Foundations believes in the ministrations and manifestations of Holy Spirit. The Pastor-in charge shall therefore from time to time minister Holy Ghost, stimulate and guide the effective use of these very important manifestations.

  • The Fall of Man

Amazing Grace Foundations believes that man created in holiness, under the law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression fell from the holy and happy state; in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners, not by constraints but choice; being by nature utterly void of that holiness required by the law of God, positively incline to evil; and therefore, under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without defence or excuse.

  • Salvation

The Foundation believes that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the mediatorial office of the Son of God; who by the appointment of the Father, freely took upon Him our nature, yet without sin; honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and by His death made a full atonement for our sins; that having risen from the dead, He is now enthroned in heaven; and uniting in His wonderful person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfection, He is in every way qualified to be a suitable, a compassionate and all-sufficient Savior.

The Foundations also believes that the great gospel blessings which Christ secures to such as believe HIM is justification: that justification includes the pardon of sin, and the promise of eternal life on principles of righteousness; that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s blood; by virtue of which faith His perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us of God; that it brings us into a state of most blessed peace and favor with God, and secures every other blessing needful for time and eternity.

  • Repentance and Faith

Amazing Grace Foundations believes that repentance and faith are sacred duties and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God; whereby being deeply convinced of our guilt, danger and helplessness, and of the way of Salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy: at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest and King, and rely upon Him alone as the only and all sufficient Saviour.

  • Sanctification

The Foundation believes that sanctification is the process by which we are made partakers of God’s holiness; that is a progressive work, that it begins with regeneration or being born again and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in constant self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, prayer and more importantly, the Word of God.

  • Perseverance of Saints

Amazing Grace Foundations believes that such only are real believers as endure unto the end, that their preserving attachment to Christ is the grand mark which distinguishes them from superficial professors; that a special providence watches over their welfare, and that they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

  • Baptism-Water

Amazing Grace Foundations believe that Baptism goes along with salvation. It shall therefore be a mandatory ordinance to fulfil immediately one is saved in obedience to Christ’s instruction. Mark 16: 16.

  • The Lord Supper

The Foundations shall observe the Lord’s supper regularly as the Lord lays it on the mind of the leaders.

The foundations believe that any individual who have accepted and confessed Jesus Christ as his/her own personal Lord and Savior and is baptized shall be free on his/her own personal examination to participate in the Lord’s supper. 1 Corinthians 11: 21 – 30.

  • Church Members

Amazing Grace Foundation believe that a visible Church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word.

The congregation shall however, be opened to all manners of people who intend to seek and serve God to allow them hear the gospel of Christ in order to bring them to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

  • Miracles

The Foundations believe that the existence of God, the creation of the earth, the birth and life of Jesus Christ, are all miracles. We also believe that our God is Supreme and Unlimited.

Amazing Grace Foundations therefore believe in miracles. We believe the Scriptures and the Holy Ghost as our source of power to wrought miracles because they are both Christ and God. We believe that unshaken faith in the name of Jesus Christ and His blood produce miracles.

Jeremiah 32: 27, Exodus 14: 21, Genesis 1: 1 – 3, 1 Kings 18: 30 – 40, Luke 1: 37.

  • Freedom of Choice

Amazing Grace Foundations believe that man is free to choose whom He will serve, but shall not escape the consequences of His choice. Ecclesiastes 11: 9, Revelation 22: 12 – 21. We believe however, that man having declared for God and His Son Jesus Christ is no longer free to do what he likes or chooses, but to do only what God chooses. We therefore hold religiously and sacredly to living a life after God’s own Word. John 17: 14, 1 Timothy 5: 6, 1 John 2: 15 – 16.

  • Co-operation and Fellowship

The Foundation shall cooperate and fellowship with churches and ministries that share the same vision with the Foundations.

  • The Christian Sabbath

Amazing Grace Foundations believes that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day to Christian Sabbath; and is to be kept sacred to religious purpose by abstaining from all secular labor and sinful recreation, by the devout observance of all the means of grace both private and public; and by preparation for that rest that remaineth for the people of God.

  • Civil Government

Amazing Grace Foundation believes that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest and good order of human society; and that heads of government/people in authority are to prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in things contrary to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the King of all Kings of earth.

  • Matters relating to law

The Foundations shall not allow court litigations amongst her members. She shall explore the inexhaustible peaceful avenues to resolve all differences among members of the Church body.

Amazing Grace Foundations shall however, answer any court litigations through her Trustees and Lawyers in case she is sued. 1 Corinthians 6: 1 – 6.

  • The World to Come

The Foundations believes that the end of this world is approaching; that in the last day Christ will descend from heaven, and raise the dead from the grave to final retribution; that a solemn separation will then take place, that the wicked will be adjudged to endless punishment, and the righteous to endless joy; and that this judgement will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.
